The Start of Something New

For anyone who's following this...hi! No no no, don't get too excited, I haven't left for my big trip to Argentina yet. But for anyone who's counting, it's officially 35 days until I leave on an adventure I've been looking forward to for what seems like forever! Considering I've already designed up my blog this long prior to leaving abroad, that probably says a little something about my excitement level, right?

Since I haven't begun my travels yet, I'll keep this entry short and sweet. I chose the blog title "It's Like America...But South" because it's from the Disney movie Up, which let's be honest is just plain and simple adorable and melted my little heart (and probably yours too unless you don't have a soul) when I first saw it. If we're going to go into logistics, I wouldn't say Disney topped The Lion King by any standards (arguably the best Disney movie and soundtrack of all time...just think about it, "Hakuna Matata," "I Just Can't Wait to be King," "The Circle of Life,"....SO MANY HITS!) But either way that's beside the point and I still love this movie too. Watch the clip to hear the infamous line, "It's like America...but South." (If you're in some kind of hurry or something, skip to 0:54)

When Ellie exuberantly talks about "gettin' big" and setting up her clubhouse at the edge of Paradise Falls, I always assumed she was talking about Iguazu Falls near the border of Brazil and Argentina. I don't know if that's a fact, but I'm going to run with it for now because otherwise that shatters my idea of naming my blog after it. SO JUST GO WITH IT, OKAY?! What would be even better is if I actually went to Iguazu Falls while I'm there. Ya know, makes sense, since I'm in the neighborhood and all. I know basically nothing about our travels until I get there though so we'll see!

Sooo, the next time you'll be hearing from me is after March 25 when I'm abroad in Argentina! Until then, wish me safe travels and I hope you'll check back on here to hear of my Argentina adventures over the course of 3 months. Over on my other PACOVSKY PHOTOGRAPHY BLOG, I'll try to keep up with it by adding my favorite pictures from my trip each week or something of that nature. I'll be back to blogging soon!
